Hey guys. Great video!!! Im in Cape Town South Africa and i shoot with a 5d and use a zoom h4n, lectrosonic lapels and a rode ntg 3. I want a rig EXACTLY how you’ve made yours above. Iv used the redrock micro a few times but being a 1 man show doing sound as well it becomes a hassle. Do you make and sell your altered dslr rigs because im very interested in buying straight from you.

Gove,

It was fairly easy to drill through the plastic…you just have to find the best spot to mount the quick release clamp based on your personal preference. We used Stainless Steel Oval Phillips Machine Screws 1/4-20 x 3/4 to come up through the plastic into the clamp. That way they mounted flush into the plastic and wouldn’t dig into your shoulder. Cool setup fellas, plan on building something very similar from a cavision rig as the base… can you provide anymore details on the ‘drilling into the plastic’ part and how exactly you mounted the quick release base plate to the shoulder support ? What kind of screws blots did you need ?
