The Moffitt Angling booth was packed the entire show, and for good reason. This is a significantly different innovation in fly fishing than has been seen for years. It's been getting all kinds of buzz over the past year in the blogosphere and on fly fishing message boards, we get the straight scoop from Kevin Moffitt.

The highlights: Hookless flies. Your flies are rigged onto the tippett ahead of a special circle hook. When the fish takes the fly, the hookset buries the hook right into the corner of the fish's jaw, every time.

You know what's cool about Loop? Pretty much everything.

Their new X-Grip Handle is the most revolutionary innovation in fly rods since - well - graphite. It takes rod handling to a whole new level of control.

Plus, Reid Zoeller is the first Fish Schtick Video guest to crack a joke! 10,000 Bonus Schtick Points!

Loop tells the X-Grip story the best: Has anyone seen a tennis racket with a round, smoothly polished full-wells handle made from floor grade cork? Didn't think so! Those who have played tennis knows exactly what we are after. It's no different with the handle on a fly fishing rod, especially in the heavier line weights. One could compare traditional fly rod handles with a slippery bar of soap in hands covered by sun block and sweat. The X-Grip takes care of this and ensures that you really get a grip on the situation.

Dig into more on the Loop website right here (http://www.looptackle.se/website1/1.0.1.0/132/1/).

The boys at Fly Fishing Xtreme have come up with a clever little innovation - the Shark Tooth - that will help tame your tippet and cut it cleanly every time. Bobby Brown Trout and Jesse Holt give us a look at the $5 product that everybody was talking about at the Fly Fishing Retail Show.

The highlights: So simple, you'll say, "why didn't I think of that?" These little elastic bands keep your leader / tippet material on the spool. Feed line out through an open rivet, then cut it on a stainless steel blade, which is attached. Slick!

Brian Bennett, Moldy Chum co-captain, Fish Schtick host, and Fly Fishing Sales Manager for Patagonia shows off Recycled Waders and the Common Threads program at Fly Fishing Retailer.

The highlights: If Patagonia gets a set of waders back that can't be repaired, they send them to Patrick at Recycled Waders who turns them into everything from wallets to messenger bags. The wader material makes a lightweight, waterproof way to tote your gear.

Got a pair of wasted waders? You can give them new life too - just be sure to launder them first.

Al Noraker, Senior Merchandising & Special Projects Manager for Wright & McGill Co, shows us their new Hopper / Dropper box at the 2009 Fly Fishing Retail Show. He also talks us through the benefits of Bioline - a product recently acquired by their company.

The highlights: Hopper Dropper box makes life easy by providing simple storage for pre-rigged setups. Bioline is strong, and it's almost as clear underwater as flourocarbon (and way more clear than mono or flourocarbon coated mono). Plus, it biodegrades in 5 years in the environment, and will last 18 months on the reel. Good stuff.

This stuff is so new that as of our upload, we're not finding it on their site, but you'll no doubt find it there soon. The website is worth a visit: Wright & McGill (http://www.wright-mcgill.com/index.php).
